Poured Concrete One of the options that we have, in concrete patio installation, is that of poured concrete. In this type of patio, we have complete control over the size and shape of the patio; enabling us to be able to give you as custom of a patio as you want. During this process, we will sketch out how the patio should look, add barriers to contain the concrete and then pour the concrete in to place. This option gives a nice, even finish to the concrete, leaving few seems and making your patio appear as it is one, continuous piece. Concrete Pavers The other option with concrete patios is to have them installed with concrete pavers. Concrete pavers, or concrete bricks, are individually made concrete pieces that are placed down, together, to form a flat surface. Because pavers are individual pieces, and not one, continuous piece of concrete, they have the added benefit of being able to drain water more efficiently. Water will not pool on pavers, rather, it will drain between the cracks of the pieces. Having individual pavers also gives the benefit of the pavers being able to move, with the expanding, or contracting, of the earth that they are place upon. Why Use Concrete Concrete makes a great patio material for a few, different reasons. One of the main benefits of concrete is that it handles weight very well, so placing patio furniture on top of it shouldn’t hurt it. This also lends itself to being able to have several people on your patio without making it dip. Beyond the weight distribution qualities, concrete is also very resistant to most outside elements. Sunlight may discolor concrete, but it will not harm it. Rain water runs right off of concrete and, on top of all this, concrete is easy to clean; which makes it a perfect place to enjoy food and beverages on. Types of Patio Patios can come in all types. Most patios are constructed from poured concrete, in rectangular, or square, shapes that exist right outside a front or back door. However, this doesn’t have to be the case. Patios can also be multi level, expansive structures, that are made to contain different areas, such as: pool decks, sitting areas and places to store outdoor BBQs. No matter what type of patio you are looking to have built, we assure you that we can figure out a solution that will work for you. |
